These students possess the basic skills needed to perform the position for which you have need. During the first marking period (August to October) the students earn their OSHA certification and learn basic skills and safety. From October to January, the students are eligible to work one school day\/week. They can go our two school days from January to March, three from March to April, and up to five from April to graduation. The benefits of participating in the program are numerous for both you as the employer and the student. Participation in the program can reduce future recruiting costs since it aids in the vetting of students for permanent hiring after graduation. The student becomes familiar with the culture and inner workings of the company. You can provide valuable feedback about course curricula and content. The student gains experience under real working conditions. The program provides the opportunity to strengthen employability skills. If the student placed is under the age of 18, one individual in the organization is required to obtain volunteer Child Abuse and PA State Police clearances. FBI fingerprinting is waived if the same individual has resided in the Commonwealth for 10 or more years. If the student is over the age of 18, no clearances are required. You will be asked to evaluate the student on a progressive scale as the student increases days. The evaluation form is online and accessible 24\/7.
